Kentucky Select Properties Agents to Appear on TLC’s “My First Home” This May

Kentucky Select Properties, the top selling, 100 percent locally-owned and independent real estate company in Louisville, will have two agents appear on TLC’s hit show “My First Home” this Spring. Judy Gordon and Carrie King, who have been agents with Kentucky Select for nine and seven years respectively, will be on the May 17 and 24 episodes.

Following first-time buyers as they purchase a house and make renovations and repairs, “My First Home” has been a feature show on TLC since 2007.

Gordon and King were contacted last year and asked to audition for the Louisville edition, and both were ultimately chosen from the pool of applicants.  Gordon was actually working with her best friend’s daughter at the time, in the Lyndon area. “I have known this particular client since the day she was born and was thrilled to help her find her first home and have it documented in this unique way,” Gordon said.

King’s buyers were looking in Shelbyville, where viewers will ultimately see them buy a home. “I had such a good time doing this show and was especially excited to show the great value of home buying in Louisville and the surrounding areas,” King said.

“Kentucky Select Properties is honored to have the only two agents in this market that were selected for this cycle of ‘My First Home.’ It’s fitting that Carrie and Judy were picked because they embody the characteristics we love seeing in so many Kentucky Select agents. They are very knowledgeable, hard-working, have great personal integrity and are deeply committed to their clients, fellow agents and the community,” said Jay Gulick, managing broker at Kentucky Select.

Kentucky Select is currently celebrating their 10th year in business by holding a fundraising campaign benefiting three housing-focused nonprofit organizations in Louisville: Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville, The Center for Women & Families and New Directions Housing Corporation. Trinity Choir Achieves ‘Distinguished” Ranking

The Trinity High School Choir received a “Distinguished” at the Kentucky Music Educators’ Association (KMEA) assessment, which was held at the University of Louisville School of Music on March 12. This represents the highest rating that is attainable in the assessment festival.

According to the judge’s score sheet, the following criteria must be met in order to receive the “Distinguished” rating: “Represents a superior performance. All basic elements performed on an exceptional artistic level with nearly a flawless performance and technical presentation.”

“This is a big deal for us, and the choir guys are rightfully proud,” said, Scott Ross, Trinity choir director and music teacher. “It’s quite an accomplishment, and something for which the school can be very proud.”
